  • Welcome to the Dunmow Decluttering Essex Professional Organiser FAQ
If you're considering asking a professional organiser to help you with home organising and decluttering services you probably have quite a few questions and maybe some concerns. I've covered some of the more frequently asked questions below, but don't hesitate to contact me by phone, text or email with any questions that you can't find the answers to.
  • How can Dunmow Decluttering help me?
The brief answer is that as a professional organiser I take pride and delight in helping to restore order and calm to cluttered and disorganised homes. Clients seek my services for a variety of reasons including lack of time, hectic family life and lack of space. I offer a free in-depth consultation to ensure that my home organising and decluttering services are always tailored to your individual circumstances and lifestyle. If decluttering is the aim of your session I will work with you to gather, assess and declutter the possessions in the area of focus, providing support and guidance to enable you to make decisions on what to keep and what to discard. Whilst organising, I focus on creating a space that suits your lifestyle and that looks and behaves the way you want and need it to. Where necessary, I'll suggest systems and solutions to support you in keeping the area organised once the session is finished. • What are your business hours?
In a normal week, my hours of availabilty are: Weekdays: 08:00 to 18:00 Saturday: 09:00 to 17:00 Sunday: 10:00 to 13:00 I completely understand that there will be times that clients may want to book me outside these times - for example house moves and unpacking - so just contact me if this is the case, I'll always be as flexible as I can.
  • How much do you charge for a decluttering consultation?
I don't! Dunmow Decluttering offers a free consultation either in person or by phone if you're further afield. The consultation is an important part of the process, allowing us to get to know each other and helping me to understand your lifestyle and your individual preferences and requirements. There is no obligation to book a session after the consultation.
  • How long are decluttering and home organising sessions?
Session times vary from one client to another and depend on the area worked on, the client's wishes and whether both decluttering and organsiation are involved. In my experience, a four hour session works really well as a start and allows good progress to be made, so I offer the four hour Fabulous Foundation session onto which additional hours can be added as necessary to a maximum of eight hours. We'll have the opportunity to talk about session lengths at your consultation when we look at the areas you would like to work on. I'm happy to be flexible and I'll fit sessions in around your work, appointments or school run timings if I can.
  • How much do you charge for home organisation and decluttering services
The minimum daily session is a four hour Fabulous Foundation session which is charged at £125 Additional hours can be added to this session on the same day up to a maximum of seven hours and are charged at £25 on a weekday and £30 at the weekend.
  • I'm a bit embarrased about the clutter ......
As a professional organiser, the reason that I do what I do is to help you with your clutter. I never judge or make assumptions and I consider it a privilege to be invited into your home to help you - my mind is focussed on how to help you declutter and organise. From the first phone call, text or email, our conversations, consultations and sessions will be in confidence. It's important to me that you are able to trust me and feel completely comfortable during sessions.
  • How involved will I be in the session?
This will vary depending on the session and whether both decluttering and organising are involved. Decluttering sessionare always conducted with my client present. We will work side by side and with my support and advice you'll make decisions about which items to keep and which to let go. Sessions involving purely organisation can take place with or without the client directly present, depending on your wishes.
  • Do you remove items at the end of a session?
Dunmow Decluttering does not hold a Waste Carriers Licence and so I do not physically remove items from your house. However, I will ensure that any items to be removed after a decluttering or organising session are properly sorted, categorised and labelled if necessary, to make their removal as straightforward as possible for you.
  • What if I don't want to get let go of something?
During a decluttering session all decisions about what to keep and what to let go of are always entirely in the hands of the client. I will never make you get rid of something that you want to keep and I never physically take away items from your home.
  • Will you share photos of my home?
I never post photographs of my clients' homes on either my website or my social media channels. On occasion I may ask to take photographs to help plan a session. Any such photographs taken will be with your consent and will be deleted once the session is finished.
  • How long will it take to declutter my space?
When I meet you for your initial consultation I'll be able to get to know you and your home and give you an idea of the amount of session time that will be needed. Each client is treated as an individual and decluttering will take place at your own pace, meaning that the total time needed varies with each client.
